Blog Project Week 7

Blog Project Week 7

1.    Describe how one of the companies you are following handle customer PII.
2.    Do you think the company is doing enough to protect PII? What more could be done? What actions would you recommend the company take to protect the privacy of their customers' personally identifiable information (PII)?
3.    Discuss the above in your blog.

One of the websites that I am following during this course is 1776 United, It’s a store that sells Patriotic, Pro 2nd Amendment apparel and designs and printed out of Atlanta, GA. Their privacy policy breaks it down in section for better understanding. They tell you what they do with your information, how they get it, the consent, disclosure, Shopify, third-party service, security, cookies, age of consent changes to the privacy policy and ending it with question and concerns.

I read over the policy, they are following the rules, the interesting this that I noticed was that they collect your information when you sign up for the email list and ordering something so they can offer the same product to you that you might like based on what you order before.  The another thing that I read was about Shopify, which is an online e-commerce a platform that allows them to sell their product and service to us. And our data is stored through Shopify date storage, with is secures server behind a firewall.

I think they are doing a good to protect our information, they have an outside company that they are working with. I think they should be a little more aware of not just the email, but the information we put in for our credit cards. Based that they are a small business, I feel that they are doing a good job.
